Appetite brings acclaimed aerial theatre spectacular to Stoke-on-Trent

An extraordinary aerial theatre production is set to thrill audiences in Stoke-on-Trent.

Acclaimed disaster movie in the sky “As The World Tipped” is being brought to the city by Appetite after thrilling audiences across the UK and abroad.

Up to 10,000 free tickets are being made available for two outdoor performances to be held at Central Forest Park, Hanley on 23 and 24 August.

“As the World Tipped” is written and directed by Nigel Jamieson, a world renowned creator of outdoor spectacles whose credits include the Sydney Olympics.

The Wired Aerial Theatre Company play out an ambitious and moving story based on an ecological crisis as the stage moves from horizontal to vertical – literally as the World tips.

“Suspended above the audience in the night sky this performance is like nothing you will have ever seen before,” said Karl Greenwood, Appetite Project Director.

“It combines projections, aerial stunts, music and visual affects all played out on a giant stage that tilts from flat to upright during the show.

“Bringing As the World Tipped to Stoke-on-Trent is a major thing for Appetite. This is a outdoor show like no other which has thrilled audiences across the UK.

“Arts Council funding for the Appetite arts programme allows Stoke-on-Trent residents to see this extraordinary production free of charge.”
