Companies on the Wrexham Industrial Estate are benefiting from high speed broadband for the first time.
Wrexham based Keycom is providing superfast connectivity on the estate which houses around 300 companies employing more than 7,000 people.
An event is being hosted by Keycom at the Holt Lodge Hotel, Wrexham Road, Wrexham, LL13 9SW on Thursday, 30 April at 12.30pm. There will be a presentation and guests will enjoy a complimentary lunch.
Businesses on the estate have previously been forced to put up with poor connectivity.
Graham Sharp, Managing Director Treadstone Products, said: “The situation was desperate with no fibre and slow speeds,” said Graham Sharp, Managing Director of Treadstone Products. “The only option we had prior to Keycom’s involvement was expensive lease lines.”
“Keycom has installed a WiFi transmitter at a central location on the industrial estate enabling businesses to get connected with superfast internet through Keycom’s wireless network and infrastructure.”
Patrick Davenport, Managing Director of Roil Foods, added: “We are delighted with Keycom’s reliable and fast broadband. After years of intermittent connectivity, we can now approach everyday with confidence that we can access our customers whenever we need to.”
Claire Hughes of Keycom said: “Businesses on the Wrexham Industrial Estate were fortunate if they got 2Mbps. We have installed a wireless system which is available to any business within line of site of the transmitter.”
“We can provide speeds from 10 to 100 Mbps with prices for the service starting at £30 a month.”
All Keycom services come with 24/7 support from the company’s own support centre.
The average UK broadband speed is 17.8 Mbps (megabits per second).
