HS2 in the spotlight as campaigning MP opens a new Attwood Solicitors office

Controversial high speed rail plans will be under the spotlight as Stone MP Bill Cash opens a new office for Attwood Solicitors.

Attwood Solicitors will open their third office in Stone‘s busy High Street on Friday, 14 June.

Veteran Tory MP Bill Cash has helped spearhead the opposition to the high speed rail route which will cause major disruption to home and landowners as it cuts through Staffordshire.

Ashley Attwood, Principal Solicitor at Attwood Solicitors, said “We are delighted to welcome Mr Cash as our guest to open our Stone office.

“Our new High Street office will be our hub for enquiries by residents seeking advice about the affects of the rail route on their property. As a champion of the fight against HS2, Mr Cash is the ideal person to be guest of honour at our Stone launch.”

Founded in 2005, Attwood Solicitors has built a strong reputation for championing compensation cases in areas including personal injury.

The new office, Attwood Solicitors’ third, has led to the transformation of a run down building at the heart of Stone.

“Local residents may recall the building was previously the Manley House Chinese takeaway,” said Ashley.  “When we took it on it was an eyesore and we have developed it sympathetically to provide an attractive building in keeping with Stone’s well presented High Street.”

Ashley added: “Attwood Solicitors will be working alongside Hammond Chartered Surveyors to assist people with their HS2 claims. Glen Hammond from the company will be with us for the opening event and would be delighted to talk to anyone seeking advice.

“The fight for compensation is now really only just beginning. While the High Court rejected a challenge on Phase One of the route south of Lichfield it upheld complaints about the way consultation has been carried-out.

“As a result, the Government will re-run their consultation and people affected by the route in areas such as Whitmore, Hopton and Colton will continue their fight for compensation.

Attwood Solicitors also has offices in Hartshill Road, Stoke and St John’s Square, Burslem.
