One of Stoke-on-Trent’s oldest companies has had its image refreshed with the help of graphic designer Lisa Gilliver. 

Lisa, who owns Longton based eyefourdesign, project managed an evolution of branding and signage for accountancy company, Geens. 

And eyefourdesign was also commissioned to look after brand management for Synergy Dental Care of Biddulph, in a project which even involved designing a smile for the front of Practice Director Lesley Morgan-Barlow’s Fiat 500. 

“I was delighted to get the chance to work with Geens,” said Lisa. “With more than 120 years experience, Geens is one of the oldest accountancy practices around and it has been many years since changes had been made to their branding and signage. 

“With such an established company, it would be unwise to make wholesale changes and, working closely with Geens, partners, I updated their brand and made it more easily recognisable. 

“The Geens head office in Stoke is regarded as historically significant and we had to work within local authority guidelines to ensure the new signage was appropriate.” 

Steve Archer, a Partner at Geens, said: “The new signage stands out and has drawn compliments from our clients. 

“We wanted to refresh our image, but it had to be a process of evolution, not revolution. Lisa understood this immediately and worked closely with me to produce a solution which matched our needs. 

“She project managed the process and liaised with the local council to ensure that the new exterior signage was appropriate.” 

Meanwhile, Synergy Dental Care was looking for a modern image and Lisa was able to design a full range of products from signage to leaflets and customer packs and even a vehicle wrap including a huge lipstick red smile on the front. 

Lisa said: “I work with Synergy to manage all their marketing material. They are looking for a modern, fresh feel that stands out and stands apart from the traditional staid image of a dentists’ surgery. 

Lesley Morgan-Barlow, Practice Manager at Synergy Dental Care, said: “I have been working with Lisa for almost 12 months now and the impact on our business has been amazing, our brand has gone from strength to strength, which is a testament to Lisa’s understanding of our business.
