New Simply Great Britain network to holds its first event in Mackworth, Derbyshire

Emily Whitehead

Derbyshire businesses will be amongst the first in the UK to get the chance to experience Simply Great Britain, a members’ organisation which champions and supports outstanding independent businesses.

Simply Great Britain has been launched following the success of Simply Staffordshire and the first Simply GB meet-up is set for Mackworth, Derbyshire, on May 23, from 6pm-8pm.

The Simply concept is the brainchild of rural entrepreneur Emily Whitehead, of Denstone, near Uttoxeter. Emily invites applications from independent, artisan and associated businesses and hand-picks the membership to ensure it represents a collective of stand-out businesses.

Said Emily: “The Simply Staffordshire brand has exceeded our expectations and we have become aware of demand to expand our reach and activity. This led to the launch of Simply Great Britain at the beginning of 2018 and our business model involves growing a network of like-minded businesses, starting with counties that neighbor Staffordshire, such as Derbyshire, Cheshire and Shropshire.

“We are discovering fabulous new businesses every week and among the first to attract our attention was the Farmhouse at Mackworth, a beautiful 18th Century hotel and restaurant.

“The event will feature a presentation from marketing specialist Victoria Prince, of Touchpoints. Victoria, from Ellastone, near Ashbourne, specialises in inspiring SMEs and is an ideal fit with the Simply concept.”
