Stafford couple’s home plans gain extra sparkle as they scoop Croft Architecture’s birthday prize

A Stafford couple have freed up extra funds to upgrade their home after winning an architecture practice’s fifth birthday competition.

Michelle Gomes and Andre Canelhas, of Wildwood, struck lucky in the competition run by Stafford based Croft Architecture.

“It is quite an ambitious project and this means we can afford to spend more on the fit out,” said Michelle.

Practice founder Carl Croft offered the prize of up to £5,000 worth of architectural services in a free draw.

He said: “Michelle and Andre had already commissioned work on their home from us, but we opened up the competition to anyone, not just our clients, and everyone from home owners to major developers had an equal chance to win.”

The winning entry was drawn at a fifth birthday celebration held at the Swan Hotel in Stafford town centre.

The event was attended by customers, friends and business associates of Carl and Croft Architecture’s four-strong team.

“I launched Croft Architecture at the age of 29 during very gloomy economic times but we have flourished and have constantly sought to innovate and develop new markets.

“We have taken on all commissions from small home extensions to flagship extra care villages, hospital developments and new school buildings.

“We are currently recruiting an additional architect as the business expands.”
