Staffordshire businesses back a winner with a day at the races

Hundreds of Staffordshire business people enjoyed a day at the races with a difference.

Let’s Do Business at Uttoxeter Racecourse proved a winner for exhibitors and visitors alike. Exhibition space sold out weeks in advance of the event as members from Chambers of Commerce across Staffordshire came together to network and attend a series of business improvement seminars.

A diverse range of exhibitors, from micro businesses to large public bodies, meant there was plenty to interest visitors.

Stand holders reported good business throughout the day as people flocked to the racecourse from across the county.

“It is a fantastic venue and the event has attracted quality exhibitors,” said stand holder Claire Critchley of Stoke-on-Trent based Security Services. “Footfall has been good throughout the day and we have seen plenty of interest from visitors. We will definitely be back next year.”

Suzanne Davy of Moorland Contract Cleaning commented: “I thought the venue was ideally suited to the Lets Do Business event and it was good to see so many exhibitors.  The event was very well attended and we had some promising enquiries about our services.  We also made some useful contacts with prospective suppliers.  Overall, a very successful day for us”.

“It was a great event with good businesses not only exhibiting but also in attendance. We made some excellent contacts who I look forward to doing business with in the future,” added Sarah White of Stone based M-viron.

And Let’s Do Business offered much more than a networking opportunity. There was the chance to learn from speakers such as behaviour and communications guru Brett Mabberley and networking expert Rob Brown.

Sarah Williams, Chief Executive, of Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, said: “Let’s Do Business showcased the brightest and best of Staffordshire business from small, specialist providers through to some of the county’s larger employers and exhibitors such as Keele University and UK Trade and Industry.

“Uttoxeter Racecourse proved to be a very popular venue with visitors and is ideally placed to bring together Chamber members from across the county.”
