Kibblestone International Scout Camp is appealing for volunteers this summer as it springs back to life following lockdown.

The picturesque 98-acre site, near Stone, is looking for support in numerous roles, from caterers to activity coordinators,

It’s a chance to get out and about more this summer and to help young people enjoy energetic, outdoor activities.

Manager, Stevan Fern, said: “ Kibblestone Camp has been providing activities since 1927 and has always been dependant on the goodwill of adult volunteers.

“More than ever, after the 18 months, we’ve all endured with coronavirus lockdown, young people need to find challenge and adventure in the great outdoors. But we need volunteer support to help youngsters to enjoy the summer, reconnect with others and build skills for life, in a supportive environment.”

Kibblestone International Scout Camp needs adult volunteers at all levels. Whether it is helping with the governance as a trustee, using practical skills to maintain and develop the infrastructure, running adventurous activities, helping with catering or simply pulling out some weeds, there is a place for everyone.

The good news is that volunteering is good for you. Adults benefit hugely from practicing new skills, meeting new friends and it makes you feel good.
