Safety experts BPA Safety have a job opportunity for a Health and Safety Consultant to progress their career – having just taken on two new faces.

The Stoke-based company has continued to develop during the past year with demand high for expert safety services due to a continuing need for Covid-safe workplaces and high demand in the building sector.

Managing Director Darren Bedson said: “We have an opening for a Health and Safety Consultant with a minimum of three years experience. This is a role for someone who has the initiative and capabilities to work independently with clients and to develop their career with BPA Safety.

“I am a Chartered Fellow of IOSH (the Institute of Safety and Health) and I’m a mentor and assessor for IOSH, so can support the right candidate to progress. The right person for this job will be a member of IOSH and have experience of CDM – Construction Design and Management – regulations.

BPA Safety has recently offered a chance to train as a Health and Safety Consultant to new starter Katherine Cooper and employed more experienced consultant Paul Daniels.

Katherine joins BPA from the an events background  having worked in hospitality for the last 10-years, in all areas and joins from St. Georges Park working for the FA. Katherine was responsible for the day-to-day risk assessments and safety of clients. While Paul has 14 years’ experience in the construction sector working as a bid writer, development manager and consultant.

BPA is based at Quantum House, Leek Road, Stoke, but has a portfolio of clients across England and Wales.

Darren recently reported expansion in the modular build sector, with three recent contract wins for projects in England, Scotland and Ireland.

Closer to home, BPA has retained clients across all sectors, such as housing associations, manufacturers, garage services and offices. Covid safety risk assessment work is also in high demand as more people return to workplaces as the pandemic slows.

Added Darren: “The HSE and local authorities are carrying-out spot checks and it’s vital that you can prove you’ve risk assessed your building. In one recent case, close to home in Stoke-on-Trent, inspectors made an unannounced vsit, but they were able to quickly satisfy them by showing paperwork from the Covid-safety risk assessment provided by our BPA team.”
