Charity fundraising gets festive as reindeers Chester and Mistletoe visit Stafford business Carthy Accountants

Reindeers Chester and Mistletoe will be special guests at a Stafford town centre networking event this Christmas as Carthy Accountants raise funds for a children’s charity.
Guests are being encouraged to bring their children to the event on Wednesday, 20 December, after Carthy Accountants joined forces with the Phoenix Children’s Foundation.
“We host monthly Carthy Club networking events to encourage members of the local business community to work together, but we wanted to do something special for Christmas,” said company Director Michael Carthy.
“Any local business owners can attend and bring their children or grandchildren – if people are interested they just need to get in touch and let us know so we can brief the handlers, and guests and reindeer can be kept as safe and comfortable as possible. There’s no charge and there’ll be hot chocolate for the children and mulled wine for the parents. We have made a donation to the children’s foundation and there will be fundraising buckets if visitors want to add their support.”
The event runs from 4pm until 7pm at Carthy Accountants, Eastgate Street, Stafford. Chester and Mistletoe will be housed in a large pen on the office car park.
Added Michael: “Phoenix Children’s Foundation has supported around 20,000 families in the last 10 years. They have provided specialist equipment for children’s hospices, helped to provide items such as powered wheelchairs for children and funded riding lessons for disabled children.
They have a menagerie of animals, including reindeer, which helps to bolster their fundraising efforts.
“Chester and Mistletoe are used to children and love attention. They will be accompanied by experienced handlers who will talk to the children about the magnificent reindeers.”
The Phoenix Children’s Foundation is based in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire.
