An outdoor activity centre which is much-loved by many youngsters from Staffordshire and beyond is bidding to take a share of the growing market for corporate team building events.
The 98-acre Kibblestone International Scout Camp boasts a huge range of opportunities for company staff to get active, from axe throwing to bouldering and archery to abseiling.
Kibblestone can offer flexible packages and can cater for around 100 people staying overnight in its accommodation centre, or for many more, if they plan to camp.
The site can be split to cater for different groups in different zones as necessary.
There is a growing demand for team building activities from UK business, with the market now estimated to be worth more than £200 million a year in the UK. Staff are enjoying activities from Bake Offs and trampolining, to more adventurous activities, such as those available at Kibblestone.
Estate Manager Steve Fern said: “We have a wide range of activities for anyone looking for a day of team building or an overnight stay and we have an experienced team of qualified instructors to ensure safety.
“The business market has grown substantially in recent years, but we have never actively marketed our facilities before.
“We entertain Scout groups from throughout the UK and even attract international groups. But we have substantial scope to accommodate corporate visitors, particularly in the middle of the week.
“Kibblestone is an ideal getaway. There’s a huge choice of activities on offer, the site is incredibly picturesque and we are conveniently situated for a wide range of visitors from across the Midlands and North West England.”
Kibblestone has almost 30 regular activities on offer and many are well suited to team activities such as coracle building, orienteering and crate stacking. For the really brave there are even a variety of high ropes courses
Many companies now take their teams away for team building days but Kibblestone has previously only dipped tentatively into the market, catering for a handful of businesses where staff have known the site as Scout leaders.
In addition, Kibblestone plays host to groups such as Staffordshire Fire and Rescue who use the site for aerial training.
Steve is a full-time manager of a relatively small team, but can call on a team of around 100 dedicated volunteers to support activities at Kibblestone.
Some companies may want to combine adventurous activities with a team meeting or conference. Meeting rooms are available at Kibblestone, with access to WiFi, screens and projectors.
