David reunites with former apprentice Mike to foster business growth

Electrician David Knight is growing his business reach by teaming up with Mike Wallace – 10 years after giving him his first chance in the business.

The duo will trade independently but are joining forces to take on bigger electrical repair jobs.

Both David, of Day and Knight Electrical, Stafford, and Mike, an independent electrician from Albrighton, near Bridgnorth, are members of the highly acclaimed Which? Trusted Traders scheme. They have begun to take on larger contracts, bringing in Which? accredited traders from other areas of the building trade as needed.

David, a runner-up in the Which? Trusted Trader of the Year competition in 2016, said: “By coming together with Mike and other members of the Which? scheme we can offer a comprehensive service to larger business clients backed by the peace of mind that is associated with the Which? brand.

“It is great to team up with Mike again after giving him as start as an apprentice.”

David and Mike have recently worked together on a project to upgrade electrical systems at the Arthur Findlay Centre, Stafford.

Mike, of MJ Wallace Ltd, added: “We have come together to work on higher value or time sensitive projects and have brought in other trades from the Which? Trusted Trader registry as needed.

“I have been a Which? member since August and it is now driving much of my business because of it status as the UK’s leading consumer watchdog.”

Which? put traders through a comprehensive five-step process before allowing then Trusted Trader status. This includes a credit check; scrutiny of customer references by Which? Trusted Traders; business and admin procedure checks; a visit and interview by Which? Trusted Traders and signed agreement to the Which? Trusted Trader Code of Conduct.

Which say they reject many applications to join the scheme and customers benefit from an ombudsman service which would provide an independent resolution in any disputes.
