DJH Mitten Clarke Partner with Tenzing

Top 50 UK accountancy group, DJH Mitten Clarke, has announced a new partnership with private equity investor, Tenzing.Following a number of acquisitions which has seen the firm’s team grow to over 300 across its offices in Stoke-on-Trent, Chester, Manchester and Walsall, the funding will allow DJH Mitten Clarke to further invest in both its people and infrastructure.

Scott Heath, CEO, at DJH Mitten Clarke said, “The last 18 months have been huge for us. With the aim of enhancing the advice and service that we offer our clients, we’ve significantly invested in our team, our technology and our facilities. But as we continue to strive for innovation, gaining investment was fundamental if we are to remain on the same trajectory.

“After talking to a number of potential investors, it was clear that Tenzing is the perfect fit for our business. Not only do they have a proven track-record within the professional services and technology sectors, they also have a people-first approach, meaning we’re well and truly aligned. Tenzing’s philosophy is to back teams who they believe in, and support them to reach their own summit, which is exactly what we were looking for from a partner.

“The support from Tenzing, will allow us to further invest in our team and accelerate the transformation of our business, making our vision become a reality. Our aim is to keep innovating and further enhance the advice and experience we deliver to our clients.”

Scott will remain at the helm of the firm, supported by James Beardmore, Chief Operating Officer, and a talented senior management team from across the Group. The partnership will allow DJH Mitten Clarke, who operate across the West-Midlands and North-West, to further invest in the learning and development and wellbeing of their team, and to focus on the technology, systems and sustainability of the business.

Mike Reynolds, Investment Team at Tenzing, said “From the off we were impressed with the fantastic culture that DJH Mitten Clarke has developed, they go all-out to create opportunities for their team to flourish both personally and professionally. Whilst they’ve achieved rapid growth over the last few years, their number one priority has been assembling a high-performing team, investing in both them and the technology they use. Scott and his team have put solid foundations in place, and we’re excited to work with them to deliver significant tech transformation and growth for the business.”

The news comes following the announcement of DJH Mitten Clarke bolstering its team with four senior appointments in recent weeks, including new Chief Technology Officer, Paul Freeman, who joined the business after providing technology consultancy to top 20 accountancy firms.
