Reviews from brides and grooms have resulted in a North Staffordshire wedding photographer being shortlisted for a prestigious award.

Joanna Wilkinson, owner of Toland Photography, is one of just seven finalists in the English Wedding Awards West Midland s photographer of the year competition.

The shortlisting came as a major surprise to Joanna, of Wolstanton, who didn’t know she had been nominated until the notification of her success came through.

“It is fantastic to make the final and is even more of an honour as the award is voted for by customers. I didn’t know of the nomination and to be supported in this way by the wedding parties I have worked with is such a thrill,” said Jo.

“I founded the business in 2016 and have spent a lot of time on learning my craft, undergoing professional development with some of the best photographers in the industry – it really feels as if all that work is paying off.”

The finalists’ photographs will now be judged by a panel of industry professionals. A black-tie ceremony will take place on Tuesday, November 26, at The Holiday Inn, Birmingham city centre.
