HEARING ADVICE DAYS COMING TO GREAT YARMOUTH AFTER HUGE SUCCESS IN THE NORTH OF ENGLAND

A Hearing Advice Day is due to be held for all workers in Great Yarmouth and surrounding areas who may have been exposed to noise at work at some point during their life.

Attwood Solicitors, specialist Noise Induced Hearing Loss Solicitors, have already had great success for shipyard workers in the North of England and are now looking to extend their help to those in Great Yarmouth.

The Hearing Advice Day will run from 10am to 4pm at St James Health and Resource Centre, Queens Road, Great Yarmouth on Wednesday, 14 December.

Qualified audiologists will be on hand to conduct the hearing tests.

The hearing test only takes around five minutes and people will be informed of your results immediately afterwards.  Attwood Solicitors will be on hand to discuss the results and also give any advice on the claims process.

Principal Solicitor Ashley Atwood said: “We have been working on cases in the North of England for over a year now and, every time we hold a free Hearing Advice Day, demand is high.  We hope that we can help lots of workers from Great Yarmouth in recovering compensation.”

Attwood Solicitors are looking to help anyone who has been exposed to noise at work whether that may be in engineering, shipyard work, construction, or any other field of noisy employment.

They are currently acting for around 500 people, including ship yard workers in Barrow, Cumbria, and Southampton.

Attwood Solicitor’s work closely with audiologists Hear4U and Dr Grant Charlesworth Jones, a GP who specialises in industrial injury cases.

Dr Charlesworth Jones said: “My work with Attwood Solicitors is raising awareness of a major issue.  For many years workers had their hearing damaged because employers failed to provide adequate protection.

“However, people have tended to just put up with hearing loss and put it down to getting older.

“In my experience people are reticent about coming forward – but they should be compensated and the law provides for that.”
