Housing maintenance team gets a slick makeover from Graphix

Design and print teams at Graphix pulled out all the stops to ensure Stoke-on-Trent City Council’s housing maintenance vehicle fleet was rebranded in double quick time.
Graphix, based at Norton, Stoke-on-Trent, won a competitive tender to work with the City Council – house maintenance team, after a decision to take the service, formerly branded in a partnership with Kier, into full council control and new name Unitas.
Stephen Ward, Graphix Managing Director, said: “We were delighted to win this large contract, as it is the first time we have worked on a ‘large tender won’ council contract in our own city. It was a huge task, there were 300 vans for us to produce the branding kits for. We were able to exceed all expectations. Completing the ‘old’ Kier branding removal, vehicle prep and new Unitas branding install on 12-13 vans a day and getting the six weeks’ worth of work, as estimated by the council, completed in just about four weeks.
“We did a lot of forward planning & scheduling, ensuring that each driver knew when to bring in their van, setting our work to fit with their job rotas.”
Stephen said that Graphix are able to offer the council a comprehensive, efficient solution as the business has made a major investment in skilled staff and high-level equipment over the past two years. Graphix can offer a full design, print, signage and vehicle wrapping solution to any small, medium or large business.
The company is enjoying a busy 2018, winning new contracts with long-standing customers such as Novus and Stoke City Football Club, together with working with Mirage Rail Services to design exhibition stands, completing a full rebrand, website and office signage project for Leek-based SAS Water Ltd, new signage for Holdcroft Heating’s Burslem headquarters and design and signage for Phoenix Dynamics, of High Carr, Newcastle-under-Lyme.
Founded 25 years ago, Graphix is headed by brothers Stephen and Simon Ward. The all-purpose agency has an ever-increasing customer base from sole traders to high profile brands including Premier Inns, Novus and Help for Heroes.
Graphic designer Stephen and printer Simon started Graphix from their parents’ home in 1993 and now have 12 staff based at their studios in Knypersley Road, Norton.
