Commercial Finance Manager Brogan Alexander has hit the ground running in her new role, helping Beta Commercial Finance to secure funding to create nine new jobs for clients in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.
Tom Wilkinson, Managing Director, of the Staffordshire Moorlands based commercial broker, said: “With Brogan’s support, we have been able to support clients across a range of business sectors including accountancy, marketing, landscaping, residential care, and property maintenance.
“Alongside that, Brogan has worked tirelessly to raise the profile of Beta, participating in many networking events with organisations such as the Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce and BNI Staffordshire.”
Tom said he wanted to highlight Brogan’s success to help demystify how commercial brokers’ work.
He explained: “Traditionally company owners would have had a direct relationship with the business manager at the local bank. That’s much less likely these days, so now my team take on that role for any company looking for funding. The difference is that we can develop a relationship with a wide range of lenders to ensure our clients get the best deal.
“Our team, including Brogan, is made up of former business banking specialists at UK banks. They have the knowledge and relationships to be able to work on complex schemes, often involving more than one lender.
“It’s not just about getting a deal over the line, we strive hard to get the best possible solution for each client, and that involves our staff, including Brogan, working very closely with a company, carrying out thorough research, and advising on the best possible outcome for each client.”
Founded in 2016, Beta CF has established a reputation for excellence. The company has been shortlisted in three categories at the 2024 Commercial Broker Awards. Winning recognition in the SME Champion, Commercial Broker of the Year (1 to 5 brokers), and Development Broker of the Year categories.
Brogan, from Stafford, said: “Joining Beta as a Commercial Finance Manager has been a fantastic move for me. Working in an environment where we get to know the clients personally is incredibly rewarding, especially when we can support them to either grow, or consolidate, creating or safeguarding jobs.
“In line with many of our clients, Beta is a SME, and it’s great to be able to build a relationship based on trust – we become part of our customer’s team.
“Beta has also given me the opportunity to go out and network. I have enjoyed making strong business relationships through BNI Victory, the BNI Staffordshire group that I attend weekly at Newcastle Golf Club, and Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce events such as speed networking and ‘netwalking’ at Trentham Gardens.”
Outcomes of work completed by Brogan include successful loan application to allow a Staffordshire landscaper to build a commercial warehouse and a care home to refurbish its premises.
Along with the nine new jobs created, Brogan’s work has safeguarded 14 posts, and allowed companies to win essential working capital.
