Joiner Dean Franklin builds on business success with new garden building and glamping pod venture

A North Staffordshire’s joiner is looking to build on almost a decade of business success with a complimentary garden building venture.

Dean Franklin has grown a team of over 20 staff and subcontractors at Franklin and Jameson Joinery Ltd, working primarily with developers and house builders.

Now Dean has designed and built a range of garden buildings and plans to enter the holiday and leisure market.

Dean, who has offices and a yard, off Abbey Green Road, Leek, has spent time researching the market and has built a range of garden offices, glamping pods, and a shepherd’s hut.

Dean said: “I have worked as a joiner since I left school and founded Franklin and Jameson in 2015.

“We are the main joinery contractor on many housing developments, in the North West and West Midlands and have the capacity to expand into the leisure sector.  I’ve personally spent a lot of time developing a strategy for this new venture and have built a selection of garden buildings.

“We have developed a range of wooden buildings to a market leading design and hi-spec finish.

“But because we are a small Staffordshire business with the capabilities to complete work in house, we are able to supply them at a very competitive price when compared to the well-known outlets and garden centres.

“We are able to work directly with homeowners, glamping sites and holiday parks to give what we believe is superior service.

“Examples are available to see in our yard and we are now ready to launch onto the wholesale and retail markets.”
