Emily Jacobs, a fellow director of the company, said:  “Kate has proven to be an invaluable member of the team over more than a decade and we are delighted to give her the recognition she deserves by welcoming her to the senior management team.

“The new office has given us space to grow and we are confident that Kate is well placed to lead our business development.”

Richard Jacobs Pensions has also taken on a new pensions administrator, Gemma Lovatt, and plans further expansion in 2015.

Kate, aged 39, began her working life with the Wedgwood pottery company on a Youth Training Scheme working her way up to become PA to the Finance Director before leaving to pursue a career with Richard Jacobs Pensions.

She said: “This is a great opportunity for me. I’ve worked with the company as we have steadily grown over the past 14 years and I’m thrilled to accept a Directorship at an exciting time for the company.”
