KIbblestone opens up to families for Easter

The Easter bunny is bringing gifts to Staffordshire’s Kibblestone International Scout Camp and local families are invited to join an egg hunt.

The grounds of the extensive countryside camp, near Stone, will be open for all on Saturday, April 16 for the popular annual Easter egg-stravaganza.

“It’s the one day of the year that our site is open to the general public,” said Manager Steve Fern. “The grounds are used for scouts and for other pre-arranged visits throughout the year, such as corporate team building, so it’s extremely rare for the general public to be able to simply attend as they are able to do for the Easter Egg Hunt.

“The Easter Bunny hides clues for children to follow while you enjoy a walk around Kibblestone’s beautiful grounds.  When you’ve collected the clue answers, each child can  head back to our reception building to collect theirchocolate egg.”

The event costs £6 per child and £3 per adult. Please book in advance by emailing [email protected] or calling 01785 813407.

Kibblestone’s camp shop will be open for cakes, snacks, hot or cold drinks, and gifts.

Anyone taking part will be helping to raise funds for the international scout camp – a unique asset in Staffordshire.

Kibblestone has a 98-acre woodland site on the outskirts of Stone. Run by the Kibblestone District Scout Council charity, the camp is generally a hive of activity, particularly in summer. It has hosted scouts from across the globe and is used regularly by local groups. There’s over 30-guided activities available on site, from abseiling to axe throwing, pond dipping to coracle building.

Along with scout groups, Kibblestone can be booked for school visits, for conferences and by companies looking for activity-based away days.

There’s staff on site and indoor accommodation, although many visitors prefer to pitch tents and meet around a traditional camp fire. Kibblestone camp is large enough to be split into two areas and can safely accommodate scouts or schools and, for example, a company activity break, simultaneously.
