Former banker Andy Huey is hitting new business heights five years after stepping out of the corporate world to learn a trade.
Hanford based Andy of Attentive Cleaning Service has launched a new subscription service to allow easy access to customers looking for professional carpet, upholstery, and leather cleaning services at home or in the workplace.
“Having a clean and sanitary home should be something that everyone can afford, this is something I’ve been working on for a while to make available since the cost-of-living crisis started,” said Andy. “It is designed to help anyone who prefers to pay monthly, spreading costs throughout the year.
Andy is launching the new payment options to mark five years since taking the brave decision to quit corporate life to find a work passion while enjoying a more satisfying work life balance.
Having started the business two weeks before lockdown in 2020, Andy has spent the last five years honing his skills in the carpet and upholstery cleaning business, attending professionally accredited courses, and always seeking feedback from customers to further improve the services.
Andy said: “I have learnt over this time that there is a wide variety in the quality of carpet cleaners available which is why I always recommend people to choose National Carpet Cleaners Association accredited cleaners.”
Business is blossoming, with a record year in 2024, and Andy says leaving the corporate world has provided additional benefits.
“When you quit a steady, corporate job, some people probably think you are mad, but both learning a trade and working from home has had major benefits,” explained the 48-year-old former Staffordshire University International Finance graduate.
“My business has really taken off in the last 12 months and that sits with other achievements such as hill walking and rekindling my love for martial arts. Both me and my family have benefited from a new lease of life.”
