Print and design company Rowtype has acquired the assets of fellow Potteries based printer, J H Brookes.
Rowtype stepped in following a decision by J H Brookes to cease trading after more than 100 years.
The takeover will save a number of jobs through re-employment by Rowtype and result in the continuation of digital printing and finishing services at the J H Brookes site in Sneyd Street, Hanley, whilst arrangements for integration into the Rowtype factory in Milton Road, Milton are completed.
Simon Brookes, the company’s former Managing Director, will also transfer to Rowtype.
Michael Rowley, Managing Director, of Rowtype, said: “There has been much change in the printing industry and this has led to major challenges and regrettable closure for some companies.
“While it is extremely sad to lose a historic, and well respected business as J H Brookes, we believe that the acquisition of the Brookes assets by Rowtype offers an opportunity to strengthen our company through combined knowledge and experience.”
“Rowtype offers high quality print and design and has grown through 35 years of trading to become one of the leading print companies in North Staffordshire with local, regional and national clients.
“We offer a full service, from concept to creation and have an experienced in-house team of designers.”
“We welcome Simon Brookes and his colleagues on board and look forward to a bright future together.”
