Social media apprentice wanted to help Find A Better Way

An opportunity to learn all about social media while working for Cheshire based humanitarian charity, Find A Better Way, is up for grabs.

Find A Better Way (FABW) is recruiting a social media apprentice to work at its office at Booths Park, Knutsford.

The post is being offered in association with the Juice Academy, launched by Manchester’s Tangerine PR to train young people to provide strategic, effective social media for business.

Martin Dansey, Chief Executive of FABW, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for a bright, enthusiastic young person to hone their social media skills while working for a unique charity.

“FABW is the only UK charity focused on research to improve the detection of landmines by humanitarian demining teams.

“We work with leading research scientists at UK universities to provide innovative solutions to improve detection and save lives.”

FABW also funds education projects in landmined areas across the globe and is working with Imperial College, London, to provide affordable prosthetics for landmine victims.

The charity was founded by Sir Bobby Charlton after the England and Manchester United legend witnessed the destruction and social and economic devastation caused by landmines, during visits to Bosnia and Cambodia.

Applications for the social media apprentice role are being welcomed until Friday 11 July – ahead of a ‘boot camp’ selection day at The Juice Academy in Manchester.

The lucky applicant will be based at Find a Better Way while receiving regular training at the Academy.

The Juice Academy opened its doors to its first cohort of apprentices one year ago and has since created nearly 40 jobs for young people in the North West. To date, one hundred percent of its first cohort of apprentices have been offered full time, permanent employment.

Apprentices are trained in key skills such as social media management, developing content for social sharing, developing a digital strategy, keyword analysis and SEO, and social media for mobile. As part of their day-to-day roles, they play a key part in their employer’s social media strategy and bring to life the lessons learnt at The Juice Academy.

The Academy is currently recruiting its fifth cohort of apprentices, with apprenticeship roles up for grabs at a number of leading North West and national companies, including the world’s largest indoor trampoline park, Jump Nation; Vegas style casino, Manchester 235; promotional space managers, Bo-concepts; estate agents, Miller Metcalfe; taxi firm, Street Cars Manchester; commercial PR agency, Finn Communications and creative marketers, Cuckoo Design.
