Whether they say they are too busy or just plain terrified, many business owners or employees fail to pick up the phone to potential new clients.
Now Stafford based business, Call Handling Stafford, has stepped into the breach and created five new jobs while promoting a friendlier approach to so-called cold calling.
“Even the name cold calling is enough to send chills down the spine of many a normally brave business person,” said Director John Marks. “There’s also issues with the somewhat patchy reputation of the big call centres.
“But it doesn’t have to be this way. We are using a skilled team to call clients for companies and we guarantee there will be no hard sell.
“We only launched the service a few weeks ago, but early results are excellent and we are gaining work, and creating wealth, for our clients.”
Call Handling Stafford, based on the Staffordshire Technology Park, has built a reputation as a high-quality service, answering incoming calls 24 hours a day for a diverse range of clients.
Demand from clients has now led the business to launch an outbound telemarketing service aimed primarily at SME clients in Staffordshire and the West Midlands.
John said clients included both people who felt uncomfortable picking up the phone and others who were too busy working in their business.
“Your parents tell you never to talk to strangers and that fear remains into adulthood,” added John, “But at Call Handling Stafford we have developed a team who are both used to making appointments and sales and know not to alienate people with aggressive sales techniques.
“When we talk to people who want to use our service we say to them: Imagine we are sitting in your office as part of your team, what would you want us to say to potential customers?”
Call Handling Stafford has a total of 45 staff and John says there is the potential for further expansion in 2017.
