New training rules welcomed as Richard Jacobs lays down challenge to financial advisors

Pensions expert Richard Jacobs is challenging fellow business people to up their game by publishing their training activity.

New rules mean that all financial advisers must keep up to date with industry standards through a programme of Continuing Professional Development.

In response, Richard – a veteran of over 40 years in the profession – has set up a new web page detailing all training updates undertaken by him and staff at Richard Jacobs Pensions and Trustee Services of Newcastle-under-Lyme.

“As a Chartered Practitioner I have always had to keep my qualifications up to date and, as a company, we are believers in CPD.

“But until 2013, anyone could set up an office and call themselves a financial adviser. I am happy to say that this is no longer the case and Continuing Professional Development is now a requirement.

“I am pleased as it brings financial advisers in line with other professionals such as lawyers.”

Fellow Director, Emily Jacobs is working towards her Chartered Status , while all members of the  team are encouraged to undertake regular training.

A training page has been added to the company website which can be seen at www.jacobs-pensions.co.uk/about/training.html
