Finding financial solutions for companies looking for growth has seen Beta Commercial Finance source funding for projects totalling almost £24 million in the last 12 months.
Customers often tell Managing Director Tom Wilkinson that bank managers advise them to give Beta a call when funding packages are discussed.
And this has led to a year of success with the Beta team recognised in major award schemes, often featuring strongly against much bigger finance houses.
Most recently, Beta were honoured by the National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (NACFB).
Tom said: “We finished runner-up in the NACFB Development Finance Broker of the Year award and received the Highly Commended certificate, but we were probably even more delighted than the overall winner. The team of five all attended the national awards ceremony, and everyone was delighted to have demonstrated success against much larger firms in a highly competitive sector.”
Just a day earlier, Tom had picked up a commendation in the Entrepreneur of the Year Category at the Staffordshire University Awards and earlier in 2023, Tom was named in the 2023 Credit 500 Index; a list of the most influential people in the consumer and commercial credit industry.
The company were also shortlisted in the 2023 Credit Awards.
Tom, a former business bank manager, founded Beta in 2017 to support companies needing finance to grow. The company is based at the Old Chapel, High Street, Alton.
He said: “I’m extremely proud of my team who put in so much effort and expertise into ensuring our customers get the outcomes they need and deserve. Recognition in the NACFB awards is special as it is judged by the association’s partners and patrons.”
Beta supports companies across the UK and has a particularly strong reputation in Staffordshire and Derbyshire where it has helped many companies to survive, thrive and create new jobs.
Tom said: “We work hard to ensure relationships with our clients are as strong as possible. It’s a partnership and we recognise the importance of every transaction to the business owners we work with.
“Commercial brokers are vital to the success of UK business. Twenty years ago, companies would have had a relationship with their bank business manager and relied solely on him or her as a source of advice and finance. That’s all changed, and business finance deals are now often reliant on an ability to work flexibly and search the wider market.”
