Business sponsors rally to support the Gingerbread Centre’s 2018 Ball

Businesses have rallied round Stoke-on-Trent homelessness support charity, the Gingerbread Centre, as they prepare to stage their biggest fundraiser of 2018.
The Gingerbread Centre 2018 Ball will be held at the Jubilee Hall, in Stoke, on Friday, September 14.
It is being staged with the help of local business sponsors Richard Jacobs Pensions, Commercial Networks Ltd and Rydale Roofing.
Lymedale, Newcastle-under-Lyme, based Richard Jacobs Pensions have made a generous donation to sponsor the event, IT Services Support Provider Commercial Networks Ltd, have provided a singer, and Silverdale-based Rydale Roofing have paid for the event’s disco.
“The Ball can only run with the support of business partners and we’d like to thank Richard Jacobs Pensions, Commercial Networks Ltd and Rydale Roofing for their generosity,” said Chair of Trustees, Adele Bryant.
“The money raised at the Ball brings is vital to support activities for vulnerable homeless families in our city and, in particular, families who often arrive at the Gingerbread Centre accommodation centres with little more than the clothes they stand in.”
“The entertainment at the event will be compered by BBC Radio Stoke presenter Tim Wedgwood who has kindly agreed to join us at the Jubilee Hall and has waived his fee.”
Male vocalist Michael Brooks, will entertain the audience, who has taken his Motown Magic show to theatres across the UK, will entertain the audience with a set of up tempo pop classics and there will be disco dancing until midnight.
Tickets are available from the Gingerbread Centre, please contact Julie Levert by email at [email protected].
The Gingerbread Centre has two accommodation centres, Rothesay Court, Normacot, for homeless families, and Catherine Court, Hanley, for pregnant, homeless teenagers.
“We provide long-term support for residents and some can be with us for up to two years,” said Adele. “Our fundraising allows the charity to ensure their residents are offered activity programmes at the accommodation centres.
“Fundraising enables us to provide increased opportunities to vulnerable families in Stoke-on-Trent and the ball is our biggest event of the year.
“We couldn’t stage it without external support in terms of both sponsorship and donations for the charity auction at the event.
