Investment in growth as SAS Water hit the road with new ULEZ compliant vans

An expanding water hygiene and legionella consultancy is hitting the road with two brand new ULEZ compliant vans that are made in Britain.

The investment takes the fleet of vans run by Leek based SAS Water to 14 and Managing Director Lizzie Ward says it was important to support Staffordshire when buying and branding the vehicles.

“We sourced the vans locally from Greenhous and our distinctive branding is designed and applied by our long-standing partners Graphix, based in Norton, who are responsible for all our design, print and signage. We strive to support local business and support British made whenever possible.

“The fact these are our added to our ULEZ compliant vans is also important, as we’re committed to sustainability and reducing our carbon footprint.”

SAS Water service companies across the UK, providing services including, risk assessments, monitoring, testing, designing and commissioning water systems. commercial plumbing and installation of backflow prevention RPZ valves.

The company employs a team of 14 legionella consultants and commercial plumbers working with a diverse range of clients including police and fire services, housing associations, hotels, gyms and spas.

Explained Lizzie: “The law states that any workplace where there are five employees or more, or anywhere receiving visitors, must have a risk assessment. It is also important for organisations to educate their staff on water safety in the workplace and to introduce regular control measure routines.

“Breathing in aerosols containing legionella bacteria can result in Legionnaires’ Disease, a potentially fatal type of pneumonia, or a less serious illness such as Pontiac fever.

“Companies have a duty to understand and monitor risk and to have access to competent advice.”
