Leading safety experts urge business owners to sign up for free Site Safety Saves Lives webinar

Company directors, business and facilities managers are being invited to join a webinar where two experts will outline responsibilities for workplace safety duties.

The free online session is being hosted by two respected safety company leaders, Darren Bedson, Managing Director of BPA Safety, and Lizzie Ward, Managing Director at SAS Water.

The Staffordshire based experts will join forces on September 15, 2023, for a webinar which will outline your duties as a company director, the potential consequences of intervention and prosecution by the Health and Safety Executive and how to manage Legionella in workplace water.

Darren heads a team of health and safety consultants from a base in Leek Road, Stoke-on-Trent, while Lizzie runs a Leek-based consultancy specialising in Legionella and all aspects of water safety.

From years of experience visiting workplaces across the UK, the duo says there’s a lot of evidence to show that too many building owners and managers are unaware of their obligations under the law.

Both are experienced health and safety professionals and trainers.

The law says you must conduct your business without putting members of the public at risk. This includes the public and other workers who may be affected by your work.

Risk assessments are fundamental and are required by law for any building that houses five or more staff or has visitors.

Lizzie said: “As leaders of companies responsible for workplace safety, both me and Darren conduct training with companies to ensure they have up to date advice and guidance. This webinar will give business leaders an overview and a gateway into ensuring building and staff safety.”

Darren added: “Part of your responsibilities include educating and informing your staff and our webinar is a good place to start. Attendees will also get the chance to ask questions.

“Our fundamental message is simple – site safety saves lives.”
